Sidewalk Projects

The City Council for the City of Harrisburg will receive sealed bids for the sidewalk project for the following locations:   

Approximately 1,340 sq ft of sidewalk.  

Robinson St just W of Main St behind Southern FS: 200 sq ft  

15 E Mable St: 200 sq ft with 1 ADA 

100 Block of W Locust St behind the church between Jackson St & Webster St: 240 sq ft with 1 ADA 

513 N Webster St (On Baker St side): 340 sq ft 

325 S Webster St: 360 sq ft with 1 ADA 

Sealed bids for the project must be from start to finish with the contractor responsible for removal, replacement, backfilling, and grass seeding/strawing included. The city will provide CA-7 (1 inch) rock, but contractors must pick it up. The city will provide the backfill dirt, but the contractor must load and haul. The city will provide a dump site. The sidewalks must be 4 inches thick.  Contractor must provide work comp insurance, 1 million liability policy naming the City of Harrisburg as an insured party, certified payroll and prevailing wage. All sealed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than August 19, 2025, by 2:00 p.m. Bid shall bear the legend SIDEWALK BID and awarded at the August 21, 2025, council meeting. 

All sidewalks will be marked with white paint and arrows. Project must be completed within 60 days of award weather permitting. For additional information or questions, please call Superintendent Kenny Mayhall at 618-253-7451 ext. 3.  

The City Council may accept the lowest bid or offer whose bid meets the requirements and which is determined by them to be in the best interest of the municipality, and which complies with the terms of this notice. The City has the right to reject any and all bids or offers, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The City reserves the right to review and study any and all bids and to make an award within thirty days after the bids have been opened and publicly read.
