Bid Notice - Cemetery Mowing and Weed Eating

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

FOR CITY CEMETARY MOWING AND WEED EATING

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Harrisburg is accepting SEALED BIDS for the MOWING AND WEED EATING of the entire City Cemetery.

Bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk, located at 110 E. Locust St., Harrisburg, IL until 8:30am (local time) on March 4, 2026 at which time they will be publicly opened and read during the public Bid Letting meeting located in City Council Chambers at 110 E. Locust Street, Harrisburg, Illinois 62946. The awarding or rejection of the bids may be given at the City Council Meeting on March 5, 2026 at 6:00PM.

Specification and Bid packets may be obtained from the office of the City Clerk between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, and may also be obtained by email request to tjenkins@cityofharrisburgil.com.  The bid packets must be filled out and accompany all sealed bids received by the City.

The purpose of the bidding shall be for the City to accepts bids for: Mowing and Weed Eating of the entire City Cemetery. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the following conditions: (1) Successful bidder must enter into an Independent Contractor Agreement with the City; (2) No herbicides or weed killer shall be used in the Cemetery; and (3) Successful bidder shall comply with all General Conditions in the bid packet and be required to enter into an Independent Contractor Agreement substantially in the form attached to the bid packet. 

No bids will be accepted after public opening of bids during the scheduled 8:30 AM Bid Letting Meeting on March 4, 2026.  The City Council of the City of Harrisburg expressly reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities in the bid received.
