The Harrisburg City Council met on August 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Hall located at 110 E. Locust Street, Harrisburg, IL.

Mayor John McPeek called the meeting to order. Mayor John McPeek presided over the meeting with Commissioners Roger Angelly, Rupert Johnson, and Jonathan Brown answering roll call. Commissioner Raymond Gunning was absent.

Fire Captain Tristan Monroe made a statement on behalf of the Fire Fighter union as follows:

The ambulance duties are expressly addressed by our collective bargaining agreement, and any proposed change that directly affects our members’ wages, hours, duties, or working conditions – or the impact of that decision on those conditions – implications the City’s bargaining obligations under Section 4 and 7 of the Illinois Public Relations Act.  Local 2254 is formally making itself available to discuss and bargain over those effects before implementations.

Mayor John McPeek made the motion to go into executive session to discuss collective bargaining. Seconded by Commissioner Roger Angelly. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 5:02 p.m.

Mayor John McPeek stated there is no action regarding collective bargaining.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Jonathan Brown. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.
